Free & Discounted Room Coupons

EACH QUARTER if you worked greater than 32 hours/week on average during the past quarter (90 days) you will receive one FREE room night coupon card and two 50% off coupon cards within two weeks after the start of the following quarter.

EACH QUARTER if you worked less than 32 hours/week on average during the past quarter (90 days) you will receive one FREE room night coupon and one 50% off coupon within 2 weeks of the start of Q1 (Jan 1) and Q3 (Jul 1). Within 2 weeks of the start of Q2 (Apr 1) & Q4 (Oct 1) you will receive 1, 50% off coupon card. 

  • Free or discounted room coupons may not be sold and expire on the earlier of: 

    • a) 6 months after issuance, or; 

    • b) termination of employment for any reason.

  • The free or discounted room night coupon being used for a given reservation must be handed over to our front desk staff at check-in, no exceptions. 

  • Free room coupons may not be used for Friday or Saturday nights from May 15 through September 30, on any holiday, holiday weekend or concert night without prior approval of the General Manager.

  • For free rooms, the exact room type is at the hotel’s discretion.

  • Cannot be combined with any other discounts. Only one 50% off discount can be applied per night. The remaining amount due must be paid. 

ELIGIBILITY: Discounts and benefits herein will start on the later of 1) 30 days after your employment start date, or 2) the first day of the calendar quarter following your employment start date. We will verify full or part time status at the start of each quarter. Aside from new employees, to be considered a full-time employee for the purpose of the discounts herein you must have worked an average of 32 or more hours per week for the previous quarter AND be planning to continue your full-time employment through the following quarter. For new employees, your manager will inform the discount administrator if you were hired to work on a full or part time basis. We reserve the right to amend our discount program at any time and without notice. 

Staff Food & Beverage Discounts

YEAR-ROUND: Shift drinks are non-transferable, do not accrue and are available only for employees who have worked at least a 5 or more hour shift that day. Alcohol may only be consumed after your shift is finished and you are off the clock. Employees are expected to tip 20% or more on the full menu price of any discounted or free item. The 50% F&B discount is now available when paying with a gift card and is valid for up to 2 alcoholic beverages or one bottle of wine per visit. The 50% discount is for employees only. If dining with friends or family, this discount will be applied only to the employee’s portion of the check. 

EACH QUARTER if you worked greater than 32 hours/week on average during the past quarter (90 days) you will receive a $50 gift card to Wesley & Rose within 2 weeks of the start of the next quarter.

EACH QUARTER If you worked less than 32 hours/week on average during the past quarter (90 days) you will receive a $25 gift card to Wesley & Rose within 2 weeks of the start of the next quarter.

Concerts

  • One free ticket to either a Lawn or Ivy Ballroom show per quarter. You can use this yourself or give it away. Email sara@surfhotel.com to claim your ticket and be put on the guest list. 

  • 50% off tickets to any concert or festival (Limited to 1 discounted ticket per employee). Management checks the promotional ticket sales regularly to ensure everyone is only purchasing one discounted ticket. Use code SHSTAFF when selecting a ticket on the concert page via tickets.surfhotel.com

401k

  • Eligibility Conditions. You will be eligible to participate in the Plan when you have completed 500 Hours of Service within the 6 month time period following your date of hire and have attained age 18. If you do not complete 500 Hours of Service within the 6 month time period of employment, then you will have satisfied the service requirement if you are credited with a Year of Service. However, you will actually participate in the Plan once you reach the Entry Date. You will be notified via the email you provided in your paperwork once you are eligible.

  • Entry Date. Your Entry Date will be the first day of the Plan Year quarter coinciding with or next following the date you satisfy the eligibility requirements. 

  • Employer Matching Contribution. South Main Realty will make a matching contribution equal to 100% of your salary deferrals that do not exceed 1% of your compensation, plus 50% of your salary deferrals between 1% and 6% of your compensation. The amount contributed by South Main is subject to a Vesting Schedule, meaning it “becomes yours” after the 2-year vesting period.  If you separate from employment before the vesting period is over, you only keep the amount that you’re vested in (your own contributions into the plan).  Once the 2-year vesting period is over, everything in the account is fully owned by you and you would take it with you if you separated from employment.

Health Insurance 

  • Eligibility Conditions. You will be eligible to be enrolled in our Health Insurance program on the 1st of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. You will be notified via the email you provided in your paperwork once you are eligible.

PTO Eligibility

  • If Paid Time Off was part of your compensation at the time of your specific offer of employment, then the amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) you will receive depends on the number of hours you regularly work and the length of time you have been with the company. See your employment offer for details. 

  • Paid Time Off is to be used in the year it has been earned or the following year. If there is unused Paid Time Off remaining at that point, it will expire. 

Paid Sick Leave (PSL)

  • All employees earn 1 hour of paid leave per 30 hours worked (“accrued leave”), up to 48 hours a year. 

  • Up to 48 hours of unused accrued leave carries over for use during the next year. 

Employees can use accrued leave for the following safety or health needs: 

  • (1) a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition that prevents work, including diagnosis or preventive care; (2) domestic abuse, sexual assault, or criminal harassment leading to health, relocation, legal, or other services needs; (3) caring for a family member experiencing a condition described in category (1) or (2); (4) grieving, funeral/memorial attendance, or financial/legal needs after a death of a family member; (5) due to inclement weather, power/heat/water loss, or other unexpected occurrence, the employees needs to either (a) evacuate their residence, or (b) care for a family member whose school or place of care was closed
